Szkicownik bez Granic (Sketchbook without Borders) is an independent magazine about urban sketching, created by people who love drawing the city and documenting everyday life. In each issue, we present authentic sketches and articles by creators from all over Poland — different styles, different techniques, and different perspectives on urban reality. It’s a place both for experienced sketchers and for those who are just beginning and looking for their own visual language.
The magazine can be downloaded for free in a digital version on the website szkicownikbezgranic.pl/magazyn/.
It is also available in print, because we believe that paper best conveys the character of a sketch and allows you to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. The price of a single copy is 50 PLN – all proceeds from magazine sales go to support the activities of the Sketchbook Without Borders Foundation. Printed copies of the magazine (as well as other products) can be ordered in our shop: szkicownikbezgranic.pl/sklep/
We also invite you to co-create future issues. You can send us illustrated travel reports or sketches from your local area, texts, photos, and drawings describing interesting sketching events, the history of your local sketching community, a description (or demonstration) of a technique you use, or a presentation of the tools you work with (your favourite sketching kit). Other ideas are also welcome — we count on your creativity. Send your proposals to the following address: szkicownikbezgranic@gmail.com.
Remember, urban sketching is for everyone, regardless of skill level. What matters is engagement and the joy of creating — show us what’s happening in your sketchbooks. It’s a great opportunity to share your work with a wider community and become part of a nationwide archive of urban sketching.
Let’s create this magazine together.
